Our Past & Present

Bethune United Church, Baysville ON

Under the leadership of Malcolm Bethune, a Presbyterian student minister and father of Dr. Norman Bethune, our building was erected in 1883 with volunteer labour.

We warmly welcome visitors to our weekly Sunday worship at 9:30 AM. and pray that they and we will feel God's Holy Spirit in our midst.

We have an active and caring congregation, regular adult study, a busy United Church Worker's group and an innovative music program. Our service is followed by a social hour every Sunday.

Whether you are a resident searching for a new home church or a visitor wanting to feel comfortable as you commune with the Holy Spirit, we invite you to join with us in our praise of God's greatness.

Baysville

Several families from Ireland and England first settled Baysville in 1871. At one time, there were seven hotels to accommodate the lucrative lumber industry.

Today Baysville continues to be a thriving community. It boasts a community centre, curling club, library, restaurants, general stores, antique and gift shops, a marina and many service trades. In winter, Baysville is the focal point of several excellent snowmobile trails.

Easily accessible from all points, Baysville is a progressive community welcoming visitors to a host of family events throughout the year.
